How does your garden grow?
Today I have three cards to share with you.
The first is for Global Design Project and Water Cooler Challenge
The bottom layer is from Stampin' Up Forever Greenery DSP. I just got it and I am in love!!! The upper layer is SU vellum paper. Maybe someone knows why it crinkled like this after I glued it downa the corners??? Anyway... The oval of watercolor paper was colored with Karin Brushmarker Pro markers and cut with SU oval die. The SU dragonfly die was cut from SU Mint Macaron paper and splattered with Just Jade and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers. The threads are SU green and gold metallic, retired. The sentiment is from Altenew Persian Motifs stamped in Just Jade on SU Whisper White paper.
The second card is for AAA CAS card challenge:
This photo strangely shows the OPPOSITE of how this card was made. I die cut the SU rose bloom from SU Whisper White card stock and glued EACH PIECE onto the base, leaving me with the solid rose to use in a future project. Total optical illusion, huh?
The sentiment is from Altenew Paint-a-Flower Daffodil and is stamped in Magenta Madness ink.
The last card is for CAS colours and Sketches and CAS Mix Up challenges.
I started by brushing the challenge colors of Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron through a retired SU mandala stencil, then I outlined each section with a SU journaling pen. The sentiment is from Altenew Paint-a-Flower Poppy stamped with Versamark black ink and embossed clear powder. Lastly, I brushed some of the "window" pieces with Wink of Stella Glossy Clear Brush, which really shines in the right light 👇 This reminds me of a beautiful stained glass window!
On a more personal note, I have had the most excellent garden this year, hands down. Maybe it is the extra time I have put into babying it along. Maybe it is the fertilizer that I have been putting on repeatedly all year. Maybe its the hopes and wishes and prayers of the past 20 years of gardening finally being responded to. I just don't know. But I have cucumbers in July, tomatoes still alive for late summer harvests, beans that the rabbits haven't attacked yet, and eggplants on the vine. And okra to pick every day. That has NEVER happened before ya'll and I am so excited.
Just a note: yes, my garden is right next to my driveway because it was the only place in the back that has full sun because until this summer my backyard has housed a play set then a giant trampoline. Will I move it to the back? Maybe. Eventually. But until then you can find me watering and playing by the driveway when I'm not in the kitchen or creating at my craft table.
Thanks for visiting and God's Blessings to you and those you hold dear!
Jean
