Sea Stars on Friday

Image
Happy Friday!  Today's first card started with a base of Pear Pizzaz.  The layers are from SU DSP All is Calm and Smokey Slate card stock.  The sea star is from SU Picture Perfect and is stamped in Blushing Bride and Powder Pink on Powder Pink card stock.  The sentiment is from SU Christmas Bliss stamped in Lost Lagoon.  The dots are dew drops by Robin's Nest. This Christmas card is for Sunday Sketches and The Card Concept :

Another Christmas in July 2020

Here is a quick little card I worked up for Less is More and Color Throwdown : I'm a big fan of using strange color combos for Christmas Cards.  I like to be a little different and turn the head, so this card was a fun combination of the two challenges. I started with a base of Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the image from SU Wishes all Aglow in Versamark black ink and embossed with clear.  I colored the bulbs with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers and stamped the sparkles with stamped-off Daffodil and Pumpkin Pie inks.  Lastly I put a touch of Shimmer Crystal Effects on the bulbs to make them shine. Have a great rest of your weekend! Jean

Quick Christmas Card

I love Santa.  That's it. This is for challenges 52 Christmas Card Challenge and The Card Concept : I die cut the SU Detailed Santa die from watercolor paper and trimmed it like a Polaroid picture.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Greetings from Santa in Shaded Spruce ink and mounted it on a piece of SU Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I pulled out some tendrils of Santa's beard for a 3-D effect. Thanks for coming for a look see!  Christmas is ONLY 5 months away! Jean

Today I have three cards to share with you. The first is for Global Design Project and Water Cooler Challenge   The bottom layer is from Stampin' Up Forever Greenery DSP.  I just got it and I am in love!!! The upper layer is SU vellum paper.  Maybe someone knows why it crinkled like this after I glued it downa the corners??? Anyway... The oval of watercolor paper was colored with Karin Brushmarker Pro markers and cut with SU oval die.  The SU dragonfly die was cut from SU Mint Macaron paper and splattered with Just Jade and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers.  The threads are SU green and gold metallic, retired.  The sentiment is from Altenew Persian Motifs stamped in Just Jade on SU Whisper White paper.

Tonight was craft Zoom night, so I have 3 more cards for challenges completed.  I am really loving the time together when we can't be together! The first card is for Global Design Project and the Papercraft Card Challenge.   I started with Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock with Concord & 9th Feathered stamp set in SU Dapper Denim (because I don't have Misty Moonlight yet), Pool Party and Petal Pink.  I masked the floral feather and stamped the upright one.  The washi tape is retired SU and the sentiment is from  set and is cut with an SU die, not sure what set it came from.  This is layered on a Petal Pink card stock base.

I made a quick and simple card for AAA Card Challenge .  I laugh because it is 104 outside! I used the Stampin' Up Merry Mice set stamped on Strathmore Bristol watercolor paper with Versamark Black and embossed with clear.  I colored with SU Stampin' Blends markers in Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Call me Clover, Real Red, Smoky Slate and a touch of Pretty Peacock for the lights.  I layered the front on a bit of Stampin' Up Candy Cane Lane DSP.  Thanks for visiting! Jean

Summer Flowers

Happy Friday! Here in north Texas it is hot. Really hot.  No, hotter than that.  It is 100 in the shade with high humidity hot.  I am so thankful for air conditioning and a roof over my head and not having to be out in this all. day. long.  So grateful! I worked on a couple cards last night with my Zillo craft group, and finished 2 before I called it done. I started with a piece of SU Whisper White card stock.  I wet embossed the lattice mask with SU Shimmery White Embossing Paste mixed with a little Flirty Flamingo ink.  While that dried I stamped the flower from Altenew Beautiful Lady stamp set with Versamark black ink and embossed with clear.  This has become my go-to method to ensure my ink doesn't  smear while I color. I colored the flower (which is called Lantana and is a staple in my landscape - it is impossible to kill, loves the hot temperatures, and has no pests that I have seen in 20 years!)  with Stampin' Up Stampin' Write markers in Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melod

Happy Independence Day, USA!

I know not everyone feels like celebrating America's birthday this year, but I think it is so important to celebrate what we, as a country, have achieved and the desire and ability to change the things that still need to be addressed.  So, for this holiday, without any fireworks (which is good because it was 105 here this afternoon and promises to be no cooler tomorrow), I made a card.  Well, I made 2.  Then I made a few more.  Thank you Zoom craft buddies for getting me to the table!! The first card(s) are to celebrate summer and the 4th. The first card I used all Stampin' Up paper.  I put a layer of Night of Navy on the top half and a layer of Garden Green on the bottom half.  I die cut the sunset in Daffodil Delight and sponged it with Rococco Rose and Terracotta Tile.  Then I stamped the very cute kiddos with Versamark black and clear embossing powder.  I can't remember who made the stamp, but I think I got it at a stamp convention one-off in about 2002! I colored with
