Back in a flash....

I know, I know.  I disappeared off the face of the earth... craft wise, that is.  I've been here and I have crafted, but I never seem to get around to posting what I have  been working on.  But I am going to try to get back online for real.  This is my latest creation for Color Throwdown #283


Here is my take on those colors:


I used Pistachio Pudding, Basic Gray and Tangerine Tango with the Brights DSP, hexagon & Blossom punches, Antique brad, retired clip and last year's Wacky Wishes hostess set. The card measures 6x6.  It was simple and quick to put together, perfect for a last minute thank you.  Imagine spritzing a little glitter on there or playing with a little Versamark..... Hmmm might have to dress it up a bit and repost....


My intent is to play along with several challenges to get me back in the groove.  I'm still selling Stampin' Up products; the occasions (spring) catalog is active, the 2014 Sale-a-Bration is in its last weeks, and the new SU 2014-2015 catalog is scheduled to be released on June 1 and promises to have some fantastic new and creative tools for us to play with!  Come craft with me!!

Gettin' Beachy

School is back in session, virtally, of course and I want to go to the beach.  So.... Two challenge cards to post today. The first card is for CAS on Friday (Nature) (which I missed the linkup to), The Card Concept , Just Add Ink , Time Out Challenge and Sunday Stamps (which I ALSO missed the linkup to, grrrrr). I did this card twice, well actually 3 times, but twice that I liked :).  The card on the right was first.  I stamped Hero Arts Layering Waves on Stratmore Bristol watercolor paper with Stampin' Up ink: Seashore Spray, Misty Moonlight and Sahara Sand.  Then I brushed the sky with Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Fresh Fig and Pale Plum.  I stamped the sentiments in Versamark and embossed with Hero Arts Sand embossing powder.  The sailboat is from OLLLDDD retired SU Toy Box stamped in Versamark Obsidian Black and colored with Whisper White craft ink.  Last, I made foam with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory Seashell.  I thought the sunset purple was a lot overdone, so I decided to try

First Christmas card of the year

Oh yes, a Christmas card in April.  But I just couldn't help it.  See there is a lovely challenge from Merry Monday Christmas Challenge to build a snowman and then Mojo Monday had some lovely circles to play with and look what happened!!!  Frozen is so HOT right now that I just had to do it!   I don't do such intricate punching very often.  In fact this is the 2nd face I did because the first one looked maniacal.  This one the glue dried too quickly and messed up the paper before the eyes were placed correctly.  Sigh... I'll be playing with this one again to see if I can expidite the process and get a better result.  The arms and hair are hand cut, the eyes, nose and charcoal were punched with the mini circle punch and trimmed.  The colors are not your ordinary combo for Christmas, but I just love Baha Breeze (I miss it so!) and Island Indigo and Raspberry Ripple look great with it.  I used a bit of retired Sale-a-Bration Indigo ribbon to accent. Two color challenges to start Septembe

I have two cards to share today. My first card is for CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge and AAA CAS Challenge . I stamped the new Altenew Calla Lily Paint-a-Flower stamp in Versamark Clear on Bristol Stratmore watercolor paper and embossed in white.  I watercolored with Stampin Up Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Grey Granite classic inks and, once dry, used glossy clear Wink of Stella on the flowers.  The sentiments is also from the Calla Lily set and was stamped on Mossy Meadow card stock.
