40 Years

Last weekend my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.  It was a wonderful weekend, but certainly not your normal celebration.  I traveled to Austin for the weekend and went to my grandmother's memorial service, then had a family reunion with all-but-one cousin's present (10 in total) plus my dad and his four siblings.  There were tears, but much much more laughter - just what reunions should  be. I made this card for my parents anniversary on Sunday: The base is Baja Breeze with a layer of whisper white sponged with Basic Grey Classic ink.  I used a bit of Little Yellow Bicycle Bella Breeze paper (loved that line, sh!) and some Kiwi kiss paper with the scallop border punch.  The ledger and bird are from the Notably Ornate stamp set.  The ledger is stamped in Basic Grey on Whisper White card stock.  I sponged it with Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze Classic ink.  The bird is stamped in Baja Breeze on Baja Breeze card stock.  Th...

Colour Q Challenge #66

Aren't these brilliant colors?!!  I totally love them!  Here is what I came up with: In case you don't recognize it, Soft Sky Blue is an in-color from several years ago.  I only have the ink pad left, so I inked white ribbon (I just LOVE ribbon!).  So Saffron and Daffodil Delight came together nicely, along with Basic Black and Winter White cardstocks.  The stamp set is SU Growing Green.

I make cards!  Ok, only this card this week.  But a fun set of colors for this week's ColourQ Challenge: So Saffron, Old Olive, Poppy, Peach Parfait, and White.  The fun part was adding the accents and figuring out how to make the ribbon flower!  Enjoy!

New ColourQ colors card

Seems like all I have had time for in the craft room is making my weekly card for the ColourQ Challenge.  I am hoping that the next week will bring a little more freedom to my days so I can spend more time in there playing with my toys :). This week's challenge was the colors Cherry Cobbler, Bermuda Bay ('09-'10 in-color), Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Very Vanilla/CrumbCake (aka kraft!).  Here is what I came up with.  Enjoy!

ColorQ challenge #46. Baha Breeze, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla Ok, so I had to cheat a smidge.  I am still ramping up my supplies from SU and didn't have any Cherry Cobbler paper or ink, so I used Riding Hood Red instead.  Still looks good together, tho!
