Music From the Heart

Happy Monday!  Today's post is for 2 challenges.  The first is The Male Room.  They are doing a masculine music theme challenge.  Second is The Color Throwdown with this beautiful Black, Grey, Red and White color combo.





















I used Stampin' Up Music From the Heart stamp set with Momento Black ink and Stampin' Up Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Merry Merlot, Cherry Cobbler, and Real Red ink.  I love this guitar/treble clef combo plus it is perfect for my choir kids!  Lastly, I glossed up the birds with a little Shimmery Crystal Effects (sorry they weren't quite dry when I snapped this pic).

School is back in session, virtally, of course and I want to go to the beach.  So.... Two challenge cards to post today. The first card is for CAS on Friday (Nature) (which I missed the linkup to), The Card Concept , Just Add Ink , Time Out Challenge and Sunday Stamps (which I ALSO missed the linkup to, grrrrr). I did this card twice, well actually 3 times, but twice that I liked :).  The card on the right was first.  I stamped Hero Arts Layering Waves on Stratmore Bristol watercolor paper with Stampin' Up ink: Seashore Spray, Misty Moonlight and Sahara Sand.  Then I brushed the sky with Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Fresh Fig and Pale Plum.  I stamped the sentiments in Versamark and embossed with Hero Arts Sand embossing powder.  The sailboat is from OLLLDDD retired SU Toy Box stamped in Versamark Obsidian Black and colored with Whisper White craft ink.  Last, I made foam with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory Seashell.  I thought the sunset purple was a lot overdone, so I decided to try

First Christmas card of the year

Oh yes, a Christmas card in April.  But I just couldn't help it.  See there is a lovely challenge from Merry Monday Christmas Challenge to build a snowman and then Mojo Monday had some lovely circles to play with and look what happened!!!  Frozen is so HOT right now that I just had to do it!   I don't do such intricate punching very often.  In fact this is the 2nd face I did because the first one looked maniacal.  This one the glue dried too quickly and messed up the paper before the eyes were placed correctly.  Sigh... I'll be playing with this one again to see if I can expidite the process and get a better result.  The arms and hair are hand cut, the eyes, nose and charcoal were punched with the mini circle punch and trimmed.  The colors are not your ordinary combo for Christmas, but I just love Baha Breeze (I miss it so!) and Island Indigo and Raspberry Ripple look great with it.  I used a bit of retired Sale-a-Bration Indigo ribbon to accent. Two color challenges to start Septembe

I have two cards to share today. My first card is for CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge and AAA CAS Challenge . I stamped the new Altenew Calla Lily Paint-a-Flower stamp in Versamark Clear on Bristol Stratmore watercolor paper and embossed in white.  I watercolored with Stampin Up Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Grey Granite classic inks and, once dry, used glossy clear Wink of Stella on the flowers.  The sentiments is also from the Calla Lily set and was stamped on Mossy Meadow card stock.
