Thursday night, ZOOM craft night!

Image
Spent some time on Zoom this evening with my scrap peeps and whipped up a few cards.  Its so good to craft with friends!! Card #1: The first card is a play on the Fusion challenge .  I love this retired SU paper and thought it would make a striking background.  The balloons are a retired SU punch.  The dies are from Amazon.   The second card is for a two different challenges: The Paper Players #491 are doing a clean and simple masculine card and CAS Colors and Sketches challenge # 371, which specifies SU colors Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler.  Here is my take. I used retired Sale-a-Bration set Room to Roost and watercolored the rooster with a little red and yellow ink.             Thanks for visiting! Jean

Quick card

And.... an another post just because.  I finished said card in about 30 minutes so I'm adding it to this post.  I added Perfect Peacock ink to the mix and used SU gold embossing powder and retired rounded label punch.  I colored a few rhinestones with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend marker and used a few retired Brights candy dots. The stamp pad is, I think, from Michael's, but I'm not positive.  It was in DD stamp stash, which she gave to me and I have held onto it for scrapbook projects.  Never throw away a good sentiment stamp set!! Even though it is not a masculine card, it is all about the sentiments.  These are the challenges I am entering with this card: Thanks for visiting! Jean

Because, Coffee....

Happy Monday! When I saw this color combo at The Color Throwdown I was inspired.  I love the deep teals and paired with the gold, yum!  But I already had a sentiment card in mind for The Male Room Challenge , so whats a girl to do but combine them.  Then I saw this layout on Freshly Made Sketches and the final card was born. All products are Stampin' Up today.  I started with the pattern paper from the long-retired Going Places DSP stack.  I love this stack!!  There were so many options that use this EXACT color scheme, but I picked the Delightful Dijon starry sky because the focus of the card is supposed to be the sentiment.  The coffee cup and sentiment are from retired Coffee Cafe, which I fussy-cut.  I used Smoky Slate, Delightful Dijon, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks and spritzed (with the long-retired Spritzer) in Smoky Slate and Pool Party.  All this layered on Bermuda Bay card stock. This was a quick and easy card to make.  And coffee.  I love this color c

Happy Mother's Day

What a beautiful day to celebrate our Moms and the people that have been Moms to us through our lives.  Of course we are doing it while sending air hugs and waving over Zoom meetings,  but the sentiment is there.  I sent my Mother and MIL each a card and I thought I would share.  Of course, I found a challenge to enter into.  Hand Stamped Sentiments had a layout that I ended up using (actually, I designed the card then realized that it matched the layout, but whatevs). I discovered Kelly Latevola and have been watching MANY of her amazing videos on YouTube.  I am a very beginner at overlapping stamps, using masking, and water coloring but I am very happy with how this came out. I used Altenew's Remember This layered stamp set for all but the purple flowers.  Those are from a retired SU Peaceful Petals set.  The ink is SU Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray, Dapper Denim, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Pineapple Punch and Mint Macaron, Pear Piz

Christmast Kickstart #1 - 2020

Image
When I saw the Christmas Kickstart Challenge last week I thought it would be fun to try.  Especially since it is late spring (and already feeling like summer) and the garden is in and veggies are growing (I have tomatoes on the vine, ya'll!) and spring flowers pruned back.  I literally got a sunburn today from pruning back my front hedge! The challenge is to do a scenic winter wonderland card: I used the Stampin Up Snowfront stamp set on Whisper White card stock and Grey Granite, Mossy Meadow, and Early Espresso inks.  The sentiment is from SU retired Christmas Bliss stamp set, fussy-cut, and adhered with dementionals.  The front is mounted on a lovely gingham paper from SU retired Merry Little Christmas paper.  I couldn't help myself because what is Christmas without colored lights!!, so I added some lights to the tree and eaves of the cabin with my Stickles stash. This stamp set has so many possibilities, but I tried to keep it simple.  Of course, we don't

Ombre Orchids for Color Throwdown and GDP

Happy Friday!!!  It was a gorgeous 90 degree day today, so I spent some time at the craft table.  I decided to use the color combo from The Color Throwdown and then noticed that my design fit the challenge for Global Design Project, so I am entering that one too.  Its been a long time since I entered anything and it feels so good to get creative!  Here is my take.   I started with a watercolor of Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst, Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride inks on SU watercolor paper (retired).  The stamp is Altenew's Sketchy Floral  in Versamark embossed in silver on SU Whisper White card stock, with a light watercolor in Blushing Bride and Berry Burst.  I fussy-cut the flowers and used SU pop ups (dementionals).  The greeting is also from the Sketchy Floral stamp set embossed with white powder.  I did a little spritz of Rich Razzleberry ink using an OLD SU ink sprayer. This was a great way to wade back into challenges.  I will have another tomor
